Adorable Bracelet, Okay Beads
Anita has been busy using up my beads. Here is a bracelet she made with them. I love the unique design. Congrats on how accomplished you are becoming, Anita.
On another note, I haven't been creating anything lately. My grandson plays an online game called Rappelz. Since I didn't understand what he was talking about when he would tell us why he liked the game and all of the Economics he is learning, I decided to play the game to familiarize myself with it. The unfortunate part is that now I am hooked on it and am slowly becoming addicted to it. So, if I don't post on this blog you will know that I am okay and stuck in Rappelz land. Come check it out.
Till I surface from Rappelz ...have fun with life...

Life Lately
This sterling silver bracelet is the only piece of jewelry I have finished lately. It is a Half Persian 3-1 made with 18 gauge wire. I created the s-hook clasp after not finding a bead that I liked from my stash of lampwork.
Anita and I took a short vacation to her camp in Conneaut a couple of weeks ago. We went to Lake Erie, ate on the beach, and looked for beach glass the first night. The next day, I met Anita's friend, Judy, who loves the Steelers, and we taught her simple wire wraps. Looks like Judy will be making jewelry soon. Then we went to a Lapidary shop in Austinburg. Lots of beautiful gems there. We also went to Red Lobster and had the most fabulous chicken and shrimp dinner. Had to walk the food off at JoAnn Fabrics later. I read a book Wednesday night while Anita watched America's Got Talent. I hadn't been reading so I enjoyed the book very much. Thursday we went to the Casino in Erie and Millcreek Mall. All I did at the casino was throw money away, but I love the slots every once-in-awhile so it was enjoyable. We ate at Crazy Dave's Sugar Shack in Conneaut and had Country Fried Steak, Italian style. Boy was it good. Judy came back on Thursday night with some of the beach glass she had wrapped. If you read this, Judy, GREAT JOB!!!!!
Since I have been home, I made a bunch of beads for football season. Lots of black with yellow and orange with brown. Wonder why? Anita probably will take pictures of what she makes with them.
Yesterday, Anita and I went on an excursion to the bead shop in Middlefield. It was a pleasant day of lazy shopping. I had been to the bead shop before, but Anita hadn't. We ate at Mary Yoder's, an Amish restaurant in town. We stopped at Settler's Village, which has an Antique store, craft shop, artist's studio, and Art Gallery. They have the most amazing paintings by various local and some national artists. I fell in love with a fairy tale painting and some animal prints that have hidden pictures in the painting. Quite beautiful work.
Tomorrow, Dave and I are off to the Canfield fair, so if I am missing for a month or two, just know I am recovering from all this FUN!!!!!!

Necklaces and Pretty Beads
I made "pretty" beads. From those beads I made two necklaces. One is from the copper links I was making and has a chainmaille portion and the other is just a chain pattern. Amy wants the copper one and her birthday is coming up. I made the blue one for Jessie and she loves it. Please let me know what you think.

Sam'n'Gam Necklace and Earrings
Sammi designed and made this necklace today. The lampwork beads are ones she loved that I created last week and the mustard colored beads are agates from Szarka. I decided that it was time Sammi learned to make a simple chain and we made this one together. It is 18 gauge red brass wire. I put together simple earrings to match. Let us know what you think, please.

Tony Stewart - Up Close and Personal Almost
Off to see the Nascar front runner, Tony Stewart. Can you tell I am a fan?
The entire family is there, except for Ty, who had to work. I bet you can't tell who belongs to who. Dave is in the yellow hat. Jess wore her jammie pants so I wouldn't feel uncomfortable in mine. Daughter bought them for Mother's Day for me to wear on this night. She's a brat, like me.
Here is Tony, Dave Blaney, and Kasey Kahne in the autograph tent while they are being interviewed by the media. I bet you can't make out anyone but Tony. Felicity, Amy's friend, got called at the last minute to go. She was funny, cause she suggested we super glue ourselves to TS's motor home. I considered it, but thought about how bad it would hurt while the super glue was being removed.
Tony, just before he signed Jess's program. I don't have a pic of him signing her program cause I shut the camera off instead of taking the picture. I was a little excited, I guess.
Just after he signed my Nascar bear. This bear is named "lil smoke". Sammi and Dave made it for me at Build a Bear and he watches the races with me.
The crowd of people after Tony was done signing autographs.
Taking pictures with the RocCk Choir, a children's Cancer survior choir. Brenda, the director, is responsible for getting Amy the tickets to the race. It didn't turn out the way it was supposed to, but it was fun.
Kasey Kahne signing autographs out in the crowd. I didn't get his autograph, but he has a gorgeous smile.

Dave Blaney out in the crowd without all the police and fans. He signed my program and hubby's hat. I didn't mean to get a pic of his butt, but he bent over before the camera went off.
Tony's Sprint car.
We only saw a couple of heats of the race. I was sick and hurting from all the standing, sun, and sitting on backless benches. We were down front and the dirt was flying. I was full of grit. My daughter's family stayed until the end. Tony Stewart won the feature. Congrats!
Later the girls went into the pits later and got pictures with the cars.
Why are you standing in front of the 9?
Amy, thank you for a lovely Mother's Day present. It didn't turn out the way you thought, but I appreciate what you tried to do. It was great getting even that close to Tony.

#14 Necklace
Tonight is the meet and greet with Tony Stewart at Sharon Speedway. I made this necklace to wear. Everything is handmade except for the spacers. I made the beads and the chain. The chain is made from red brass. It took awhile to get a #14 on the lampwork bead, but I managed. I have one I like better, but when I was cleaning the bead release out, it broke in half. What do you think about this necklace?
Note: Added better pics.

Nascar at Daytona
Tony Stewart wins at Daytona in a stunning move where Kyle Busch tries to block him and misjudges where the #14 was, causing a horrifying wreck. Who's fault was it? Kyle's? Tony's? I don't think it was anyone's fault. It was just racing. I appreciated Tony's concern when interviewed. After all, Kyle had helped him a lot during the race, but as the announcer's stated, "It's all or nothing here at Daytona." When Tony reviews the tape, I think he will see that if he moved up on the race track to avoid Kyle, he would have caused the whole field to wreck. Himself, included. Hopefully, Kyle will see his mistake.
Congrats! Tony. Fabulous season. Keep it up!
